Icare (Icarus)

Icare was created as another tribute to Henri Matisse.  The strong lines of this piece were an obsession of Matisse, who created this as part of a series called “Jazz” he created late in his life. 

It measures approximately 2.5 by 4 feet, and is trimmed with an ebony frame.  Completed in August 2010.
